A coffee pause above Central

Break up the climb with a cup. Elephant Grounds offers an airy Caine Road stop, while Blend & Grind brings its house espresso blend to Prince’s Terrace. Choose a longer sit-down pause or a coffee beside the escalator route.

Choose the Caine Road branch when the setting matters as much as the cup. Hong Kong Tourism Board singles it out as an airy spot, and the brand roasts its own blends and single-origin coffees. Start with coffee and a pastry, then decide whether your quick pause deserves a longer seat.

OUR ORDER

Ask which house blend or single-origin coffee is being served, and choose a pastry from the day’s counter.

There is a pleasing sense of place in ordering the No. 1 blend at the address that helped give it its name. Blend & Grind uses this Brazilian–Colombian espresso blend in its milk coffees; the roaster describes plum, nutty and sweet aromas. This is our pick for a flat white while exploring the streets above Central.

OUR ORDER

A flat white or cappuccino with the No. 1 House Blend; browse the branch brunch menu if you are hungry.
